I'm probably not good at writing blog posts (I haven't written anything properly since high school), but I still prefer such a medium to social media for things I want to share. Anyway, instead of calling it a blog, I named this section “Useful things” - inspired by a movie I really like (first thanks to director Pelin Esmer). Think of this place as a notebook: short notes I take while researching and learning… Maybe it will be useful for you too.

First of all, I would like to thank my teacher Ayşin Yayla, from whom I learned my love of beadwork during the two years I spent in her jewelry course, which I started by chance. I would also like to thank my course mates who tested the application and contributed to it, and my husband and sister, who supported me. If I manage to develop this website and application as I dreamed, maybe I can have a new profession.

When designing the app, I compared different word chart examples from many sources. The comments and suggestions from Kate McKinnon's site Contemporary Geometric Beadwork helped me a lot. For the triangle peyote technique, I used a word chart template similar to hers.

I use DeepL Translate and ChatGPT to translate the texts into English. I thank my husband for the final checks and corrections.

Lastly, not a thank you, but a dedication… I used to say that if I were to open a shop or create a brand, I would definitely name it after our cat. I didn’t name it after her, but let this site be in memory of Leblebi*, who we lost this year, and who loved to come and sit right on top of the beads while I was working.

* 'Leblebi' means roasted chickpea in Turkish. The sites name 'boncuk' means bead.

All the best
